Book Event I Tickets here.
As Halloween nears, Femi Fadugba will bring his sci-fi explorations of theoretical physics and life in South London to Chapters. This is sure to be an insightful and multi-layered conversation between Fadugba and Gertrude Agbozo, writer and dear friend of the shop.
Femi Fadugba is the author of The Upper World and The Mirror World, a YA sci-fi duology that weaves quantum physics into coming-of-age stories set across Peckham, Oxford, and Benin. The books were acquired in a 15-way auction by Penguin Random House UK and HarperCollins USA, and have since been published in Germany, Italy, and Brazil, among other territories. Netflix acquired the film adaptation rights for The Upper World, with Daniel Kaluuya attached to star and produce. Femi studied at the University of Pennsylvania and Oxford University, where he co-authored a paper on quantum spin amplification published in Physical Review Letters. He now lives in Boston, where he teaches elementary school math, builds products, and serves as founder and CEO of ShepherdXR, an edtech company creating immersive VR and web-based math learning tools for neurodivergent students.
Gertrude Agbozo is is an writer, activist, healthcare professional, and an important regular here at Chapters. As a writer and polymath, and a good friend of Femi’s, she is the perfect person for this conversation.
